Our Materials

At LAVA Carpentry, we prioritise sustainability by using the lowest formaldehyde materials that meet ENF grade standards. This ensures that our products not only enhance the well-being of our customers but also contribute to a healthier environment.

What’s in your carpentry can affect the air in your home

E0 is already a low-formaldehyde standard, but ENF has an even stricter, lower emission limit. Choosing ENF means choosing materials with lower formaldehyde emissions, especially important in enclosed spaces like wardrobes, bedrooms and children’s rooms.

Why choosing lowest-formaldehyde matters

Article 1 about Formaldehyde

We use the same finish for both the interior and exterior of your carpentry, unlike traditional methods that use laminate outside and PVC inside.

ABS Edge Banding

Traditional carpentry often relies on manual edge sealing, which can leave tiny gaps or uneven finishes over time. With ABS Edge Banding technology, the edges are machine-applied and sealed for a more consistent, seamless finish. This helps protect the board edges from moisture, dirt and everyday wear, while giving your carpentry a cleaner, more durable finish.

Anti-Fingerprint Solid Colour

Our solid-colour finishes come with anti-fingerprint surfaces as standard, helping reduce visible fingerprints, smudges and everyday marks for easier maintenance. While others may charge extra for an anti-fingerprint finish, ours is already included (no additional cost).

Larger 4ft × 9ft Boards

While the usual board size is 4ft × 8ft, we use larger 4ft × 9ft (1.2m × 2.7m) boards. The extra length means fewer joints are needed for most carpentry works, giving you a cleaner, more seamless finish with fewer visible lines.

Denser & More Durable Modular Boards

Our modular boards are denser and stronger than conventional carpentry boards, giving them greater durability for everyday use. The denser construction provides a more solid and robust material for your home’s carpentry.
